Figures are averages drawn from ItalianVenues.com enquiry and traffic data over the last 6 months. Italy is the worked example — the system is built to work anywhere.

You got engaged.
Then the tabs multiplied.

Most couples plan a wedding abroad exactly once — with no baseline for prices, contracts written in unfamiliar formats, and advice scattered across forums from 2019. That information gap is where the money goes.

The Old Way The Planning Spiral
  • “How much does a wedding abroad actually cost?” — hours lost across old threads and conflicting answers.
  • Quotes with no local baseline to check them against — so you never know if you’re overpaying.
  • Minimum spends, corkage and exclusivity clauses that are easy to miss in unfamiliar contracts.
  • No idea how many guests will actually say yes — so every number downstream is a guess.
  • Decisions made in the wrong order, then expensively re-made.
The Manual Way The Sequence
  • Know where every dollar goes before you commit a single one.
  • Run the guest math most couples skip — couples enquiring through ItalianVenues.com plan for 12 to 250 guests, median 50.
  • Decode minimum spends, corkage and exclusivity in plain English, before anything is signed.
  • Ask the 15 questions venues won’t volunteer — with the inquiry email that gets them answered fast.
  • Seventeen chapters in the exact order decisions must be made — nothing gets decided twice.

After reading this manual, you’ll know:

  • Exactly what your wedding should cost — a realistic budget built in one sitting, with no missing line items.
  • The contract clauses to check before any deposit leaves your account.
  • How many guests will realistically come — and how to plan venue, catering and rooms around it.
  • Which suppliers earn their fee, and which line items quietly inflate the total.
  • How to be legally married when you fly home — documents, deadlines and ceremony types, in order.
  • When to book everything across the full 12–18 month countdown.

Look inside the manual

This isn’t a mood board. It’s checklists, budget tables, comparison sheets and the exact questions to send — the same ones we use with our own clients. Here are two of them:

The Venue Sheet · Chapter 7

Ask every serious candidate:

  1. What’s the true total for our numbers — one figure, everything in?
  2. What happens to the minimum spend if our numbers drop late?
  3. What does the extra hour cost — and how late can we actually buy?
  4. What’s the wet-weather plan, and who decides by when?

We kept answering the same questions. So we wrote the manual.

Before you ask

Is this only for weddings in Italy?

No. Chapters 1–13 are country-agnostic — the decision framework, costs, legal routes, timeline, venue method, suppliers and guest logistics apply anywhere. Part Four then runs the whole method through Italy as a worked example, because watching the framework applied to a real country is the fastest way to learn it (and because Italy is what we know best).

We’ve already booked our venue. Is this still useful?

Yes. The venue is only one piece of the work. The chapters are sequenced but self-contained — start at Chapter 9 and the manual runs the year ahead: suppliers, guest logistics, catering decisions and budget control. That’s where most of the remaining money is won or lost.

We’re only just engaged. Should we wait?

No — this is when the manual is worth the most. The most expensive mistakes happen in the first 30 days, when couples lock in assumptions about guest counts and budgets before knowing the local reality.

Will this replace a wedding planner?

Honestly: for some couples, yes — smaller weddings at full-service venues can absolutely be planned with this book alone, and Chapter 9 tells you if that’s you. For bigger or more complex weddings, the manual makes you a dramatically better-informed client, and shows you exactly what a planner should be doing for their fee. One of your authors is a planner; we wrote that chapter straight.

How is this different from a paper wedding planner or journal?

Paper planners give you beautiful space to write your plan; the Manual gives you the plan — the actual costs, sequences, and questions to write down. It also does one thing paper can’t: when prices and rules change, it gets updated. Plenty of couples use both — the journal for dreaming, the Manual for deciding.

Can’t we just research all this ourselves?

You can — that’s the wall of tabs this page opened with. The Manual is that research already done: sequenced, checked against 500+ real venue enquiries, and ending in checklists. $49 buys the order, not the information.

What exactly do we get, and when?

The full manual — a beautifully laid-out 72-page PDF, all 17 chapters plus appendices — delivered by email the moment you pay, licensed to you personally. When prices and rules change, the edition updates and you get it free. Any sales tax or VAT is worked out at checkout by our payment provider.

What if it’s not for us?

Reply to your receipt within 30 days and we’ll refund you, no questions, no forms. We’d rather you told us why, but even that’s optional.

Stop researching. Start deciding.

One afternoon with the manual replaces weeks of scattered research — and protects the budget on every decision that follows. At $49, it’s the smallest line in the wedding budget — and it protects the rest. And the good dates? Most couples enquire 12–24 months out.
